"Find Some Color in this Black & White World" Layout by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone! It's Tracey back with a layout to share with you today featuring Donna's fabulous products. It's so much fun trying them out in new ways.

One of my dear on-line scrapbooking friends, Val Thorpe, took a tour of Europe this summer. She posted many amazing photos, but this one captured my attention and imagination. I just adore the brilliant colors in these old churches in the city of Maastricht, the Netherlands. Many thanks to Val for allowing me to create with her photo.

"Find Some Color in this Black & White World"

Tips and Techniques
I cut these leaves with Donna's Spellbinders Rose Creations dies from her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Texture Ribbons (burlap). I mixed her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Pigment Powders with Matte Medium to create "paint" to color the leaves. Then to soften the leaves and flowers, I dry brushed them with gesso.

I mixed Donna's blue, gold, and just a smidgen of brown pigment powders into soft molding paste for a rich, teal color and stenciled the grid lines with it. There are just so man fun ways to use this sparkling color!! I also mixed up some "paint" as I mentioned earlier to lightly color the leaves. I used some of this to splatter across the background. I also made some in gold to splatter for a two-toned effect. You'll see this paint used several ways on my layout.

This sentiment couldn't be more perfect for this gorgeous photo!! It was printed in gray, so I used the paint I created to color it as well.

The chipboard started out as one compact flourish. I cut it apart to spread across the page. I applied white gesso, then used the paints I created to color it, randomly brushing the two colors across the pieces for a grungy effect.

A view of the top corner. The fleur-de-lis was treated like the chipboard - white gesso, then brushed with the Pigment Powder paint. I added some chunky glass glitter and microbeads from my stash around the clusters and photo.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® ~ DODZ™ work great to adhere flowers and embellishments to the page.

The white mulberry roses are cut with Donna's Bitty Blossoms dies. After die-cutting the mulberry paper, I spritzed it with water and crinkled the piece up into a ball and let it sit overnight to dry. Once dry, I opened it up and created the Bitty Blossom rose, like normal.

I hope you've been inspired to get creative with Donna's Pigment Powders!

~ Blessings ~

Fall Banner by Elena Olinevich

Hello Crafters.

Are you ready for Halloween party decorations?

Well, it is not very common in my place, but nowadays more and more parties are going on. So I decided to make something between Halloween and Fall decorations and created a banner.

I wanted to make something more classical, so I used mostly papers and the fabric.

I didn't want to look it dramatic, so I added bows and feathers.
I cut out some trims from the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® textured ribbons as well as die cut the leaved from Canvas Ribbons using Spellbinders dies.

It was such an easy way to add the bows from the ribbon so I couldn't resist it.

To fix my ribbon trims and fabric leaves I used Dodz™ by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®, and to adhere the papers it was so easy to use - MyStik® Permanent Strips.

Happy crafting and thank you for joining me today.

Girlie Grunge Card with Denim by Elena Olinevich

Hello Crafty friends, I've got a card to share with you today,
totally inspired by one of my favorite color combinations - teal + denim and white.

I still remember the joy I had while creating a birthday banner for my daughter in July. So I used almost the same products; however, I have changed some things.

I used the denim piece from the Pennant Set and colored the dies and the fabric with Pigment inks.

I made this beautiful flower using a Spellbinders Die . . .
and applied glitter on the sticky flourishes. For the bottom of my card I used burlap ribbon, it was quite fun to color it with the pigments.

And a bow from organza ribbon adds a delicate touch to it.
It was quite easy to make the fold on the denim using XL Dodz, quite firm enough to hold the fabric.

And I experimented with not adding the sentiment.

"Fall" in Love Wall Hanging by Misty Russell

Hi everyone!
Fall is in the air, and I am beyond excited!  It may have been 86 degrees out today but it hasn't stopped me from filling the house with scents of fall and decorating my porch with lots of mums, pumpkins and other autumn goodies!   I even bought an apple cinnamon air freshener for my car.
So it is only fitting that my project today is also celebrating the fall season!

Thankfully I had the perfect products to create such a project!  I have a video tutorial so I won't go into a lot of detail on how I created this, but I will tell you that the beautiful papers are the "autumn day" collection from photoplay and the tree was created using Donna Salazar's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Organza ribbons (Textured Ribbons pack) and 3D foam swirls.

I had so much fun molding creating this scene and I love how the tree turned out.

I know that not many flowers are in bloom on trees in the fall but I couldn't resist using Donna's rose creations die and giving the tree a little extra love.

Here is the video showing how I created it:

"Sweet Dreams" Wall Hanging by ~ Misty Russell

Hi!  Today I have created a cute wall hanging inspired by Donna's "Under the Stars"canvas she created here.  I absolutely love how easy it is to use the E-Z Stars and it is going to be so much fun using it as focal points of projects or as an extra background pattern beneath mixed media creations!

I started off with a journal page from the DSD Denim art journal as my base, then adhered some paper and a thin napkin layer with gel medium.

After adding some texture with a stencil and some modeling paste, I coated it with some gesso and then added the stars (embossed) and misted with candle glow and pink pigment powder...

I created the clouds using a stamp over the organza ribbon and then cutting just outside the image.

Then to prevent fraying I glued around the edges and adhered it to the surface...

Then, inspired by the massive amounts of rain we've been receiving here in the midwest (lol),  I decided to add pearly raindrops to finish off the project!

"Trust in the Lord" Art Journal Page by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone!! It's Tracey here to share a page I created for my Scripture journal with this sweet verse from Proverbs.

I adore the generous size and substantial chipboard pages in Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Denim Art Journal. I've created handcrafted flowers with Donna's dies and share how I've used her inks and pigment powder to color my background and elements.

"Trust in the Lord"

Tips and Techniques
I created these little open roses with Donna's Spellbinder's Rose Creations dies. I cut them from thick vintage book pages and colored them with Vintage and Denim Mix'd Media Inx. I brushed the edges with Clearsnap Glue Gloss and sprinkled with Sugar Shimmer Twinkle Dust Glitter. I finished them by centering a rhinestone in each. I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Medium DODZ™ to adhere them to the page.

I colored light molding paste with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™gold Pigment Powder. This powder is loaded with shimmery pigment, so stir in a small amount of powder to start, and add a little at a time until you achieve the desired color. I used the colored paste to stencil the leafy vine behind the flowers.

Another view of my flowers.

On the background, I created a color wash by misting with water and spritzing with Donna's Clearsnap Sea Breeze Smooch Mist. As you can see some areas have more color wash than others, giving a lovely color variation to the background. I dabbed the stenciled areas with a paper towel to remove the color from the molding paste, so it would be more visible. Once the wash was dry, I splattered with drawing ink and liquid acrylic for more visual texture.

I stamped my Scripture sentiment with Donna's Midnight Mix'd Media Inx CHOX, which is permanent and quick drying. I stamped on white cardstock which I colored by rubbing lightly with Vintage and Stormy Mix'd Media Inx then edged with black. I adhered the strips with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™'s new product ~ Home & Hobby Premium Double-Sided Tape.

Lots of yummy layers here. The base is a strip of Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Canvas Ribbon. I removed the stitching and colored with her Clearsnap Caramel Latte Smooch Spritz, fraying the edges. Then I colored a strip of plaster wrap with Sea Breeze Smooch Spritz. (Plaster wrap is plaster of Paris embedded gauze strips and can be found at your local craft store,) The top layer is a tattered piece of Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Lace Ribbon. I grab up jewelry findings when I see them on clearance and this pendant is from by stash. I've filled in below the flower with seed beads and chunky glass glitter.

Here's a technique tip for you. To color fibers, spritz water on a craft mat, then spritz with Smooch Spritz. Swipe the fabric through the colored mist, until you have picked up enough to color the entire strip. Such an easy peasy way to color coordinate elements for your project.

I colored this die cut the same way that I colored the fabric. I wanted a distressed look, so did not attempt to evenly distribute the color.

I also used several of Donna's stamps with
Denim Mixed Media Inx to add more visual texture.

I hope you've been inspired to grab one of Donna's new Denim Art Journals
to experiment and create you're own special art pages.

"A Beautiful Moment" Journal Page by ~ Misty Russell

Hi everyone!  Misty here to share another page for the journal I'm making for Braeden's family. If you aren't familiar with this journal you can catch up by revisiting the first blog post here.

This picture is one of my favorites because its a special moment between mom and son and it just melts my heart!

In true Misty ditzy fashion I wasn't thinking when I created this journal that I would need to plan on doing both sides of the journal pages. Unfortunately, I'm messy when I create so already having the opposite side finished and embellishing was going to be a problem.

So I decided to use some corrugated cardboard to create my layout and then adhere it to the journal page with Crafty Power Tape.

I'm not sharing too many details because I do have a video showing my process so you can check it out for yourself! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

"Hang in there" card by ~ Misty Russell

Hi!  Today I have a card to share with you.  I haven't done too many cards because they actually don't come any easier to me than a layout or journal page.  It must have something to do with the smaller size that I struggle working with...

I used a 4x6 file folder from Canvas Corp as my base and started building on it from there.

I distressed all of my papers, including the file folder with the handy dandy distrezz it all then I added some of the negatives from the 3D Foam keys to the background for some added texture.

I lined the edge of the card with the lace ribbon, and then I ripped strips of the organza ribbons and added under some of the layers.

Then like a lot of my projects, I added a coffee filter flower using the Rose Creations Die.  I like to use the coffee filters because I can cut several layers all at once.  Plus, I like dying them with coffee, mists, and pigment powders and then heat drying them.  The heat gun pulls all of the layers up the flowers end up looking nice and full!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!  Hope you are having a beautiful week!
