"Come Unto Me" Art Journal Page by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone! It's Tracey here to share the latest addition to my Scripture art journal.

Donna's fabulous products are so versatile. It's so easy to switch gears from the bold and colorful page I posted recently to this subtle and nearly monochromatic page full of rugged textures. The thick chipboard pages in Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® are fabulous for mixed media.

"Come Unto Me"

Tips and Techniques
Donna's Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx are so fabulous to work with. Here I've stamped the sentiment on basic white cardstock with Stormy Mix'd Media Inx, then heat set with clear embossing powder. I like to stamp first then die cut so I can center the sentiment in the die before cutting. A piece of washi tape will keep it in place. Once cut, I used my Foam Blending Tool to rub more of the Stormy ink across the die cut.

The background around the sentiment and the page edges are brushed with Donna's Clearsnap Woodstain Smooch Spritz, then spritzed with water to lighten and move the color.

I scored a vintage dictionary at our library book sale a couple months ago and used it to create one of Donna's Spellbinders Bitty Blossom flowers. It's rubbed lightly with Stormy Mix'd Media Inx to color.

In keeping with the monochromatic look for my journal page, I very lightly sprinkled Donna's Black and Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx Embossing powder over her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Foam Swirls and heat set. Because I used a light hand with the embossing powder, the swirls were still just a little tacky in places, so I sprinkled Donna's Clearsnap Sugar Shimmer Twinkle Dust Glitter to add a girly, sparkly touch. I also rubbed the edges lightly with Stormy Mix'd Media Inx.

I distressed the lace after snipping off the lower edge and kept it the natural color.

I wanted a hint of textured color on my chipboard flower to draw my eye to the sentiment. I mixed Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Pigment powders into whipped spackle and dabbed it onto the chipboard with a brush to create this lovely texture. You may be thinking, Donna doesn't have green pigment powder?? Blue plus gold and a tiny bit of brown mixed together created this lovely green color. It's hard to capture in a photo, but there is a lovely shimmer on the flower and leaves from the mica powder. Once dry, I rubbed lightly with Stormy Mix'd Media ink to highlight the texture.

My background paper is from the corner of a 12 x 12" patterned paper. I just adore the textured patterns in the corner, so added similar stamping and shading around the page edge for a finished look.

I hope you've been inspired to experiment with Donna's Girlie Grunge products
to create your own one of a kind textures and colors.

"Find Some Color in this Black & White World" Layout by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone! It's Tracey back with a layout to share with you today featuring Donna's fabulous products. It's so much fun trying them out in new ways.

One of my dear on-line scrapbooking friends, Val Thorpe, took a tour of Europe this summer. She posted many amazing photos, but this one captured my attention and imagination. I just adore the brilliant colors in these old churches in the city of Maastricht, the Netherlands. Many thanks to Val for allowing me to create with her photo.

"Find Some Color in this Black & White World"

Tips and Techniques
I cut these leaves with Donna's Spellbinders Rose Creations dies from her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Texture Ribbons (burlap). I mixed her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Pigment Powders with Matte Medium to create "paint" to color the leaves. Then to soften the leaves and flowers, I dry brushed them with gesso.

I mixed Donna's blue, gold, and just a smidgen of brown pigment powders into soft molding paste for a rich, teal color and stenciled the grid lines with it. There are just so man fun ways to use this sparkling color!! I also mixed up some "paint" as I mentioned earlier to lightly color the leaves. I used some of this to splatter across the background. I also made some in gold to splatter for a two-toned effect. You'll see this paint used several ways on my layout.

This sentiment couldn't be more perfect for this gorgeous photo!! It was printed in gray, so I used the paint I created to color it as well.

The chipboard started out as one compact flourish. I cut it apart to spread across the page. I applied white gesso, then used the paints I created to color it, randomly brushing the two colors across the pieces for a grungy effect.

A view of the top corner. The fleur-de-lis was treated like the chipboard - white gesso, then brushed with the Pigment Powder paint. I added some chunky glass glitter and microbeads from my stash around the clusters and photo.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® ~ DODZ™ work great to adhere flowers and embellishments to the page.

The white mulberry roses are cut with Donna's Bitty Blossoms dies. After die-cutting the mulberry paper, I spritzed it with water and crinkled the piece up into a ball and let it sit overnight to dry. Once dry, I opened it up and created the Bitty Blossom rose, like normal.

I hope you've been inspired to get creative with Donna's Pigment Powders!

Vintage Jar Caddy by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone! It's Tracey back to share my newest project with you. I found these vintage style jars and unfinished wood caddy at my local craft store and knew they would be perfect to decorate with Donna's fabulous products. I've also included accents from the PhotoPlay Autumn Day Collection.

Tips and Techniques
The larger corner flower is one of my Wispy Burlap Flowers created with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Burlap Texture Ribbon. A photo tutorial for this flower can be found HERE. **Please note - I've used the new Home and Hobby by 3L 1/8" Extreme Doube-Sided Tape instead of glue in the creation of the flower. There's nothing like Donna's Dodz™ XL to adhere the Bitty Blossom to the flower center and to adhere this larger flower to the caddy. The smaller blossoms and flourish are adhered with small DODZ™.

I cut the smaller flowers from PhotoPlay Autumn Day Plaid using Donna's Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms dies, and used one for the center of the burlap flower. The Spellbinders flourish is cut from the same paper.

To get this rich, shimmery color for the flowers, I mixed together Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® brown, pink and gold Pigment Powders into her Clearsnap®/Colorbox® Pralines & Cream Smooch Spritz, then brushed the mixture across the flowers and flourish.

I used both types of lace from Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Lace Ribbons set. The looped lace runs across the top of the caddy and the bow is tied with the crochet lace. I had some extra pigment powder mixture on my craft mat, so brushed the ribbons lightly with this color.

I had so much fun creating this Vintage Jar Caddy
to fill with some of my scrapbooking trinkets.

I hope you've been inspired to create a Girlie Grunge decor project for your studio or home.

Just Married Mixed Media Layout by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone!! It's Tracey here to share a girlie grunge wedding layout with you today. My dear scrapbooking friend, Mandy, was married in June. I enjoyed using Donna's fabulous products to color and accent the page. I share some how to's in my "Tips and Techniques" section below.

"Just Married"

Tips and Techniques
I created this "Wispy Burlap Flower" with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Texture Ribbons. A tutorial for these flowers can be found HERE. I created the center by rolling her looped lace from  her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Lace Ribbons pack.

The textured leaves are cut and embossed using Donna's Spellbinders® Bitty Blossoms Dies. I lightly rubbed the edges and raised areas with her Clearsnap®/Colorbox® Stormy Mix'd Media Inx®.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® DODZ™are super sticky and adhere well to a mixed media background. I've used a variety of sizes from Donna's Dodz™ XL to adhere the larger flowers to the Dodz™ Small to adhere delicate leaves.

Here's a simple technique to give a girlie grunge effect to chipboard pieces. Apply embossing medium to chipboard and "lightly sprinkle" with Clearsnap®/Colorbox® Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder and heat emboss. Be sure to let some of the bare chipboard show through.

I mixed Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® pink and gold pigment powder into light molding paste and used it to stencil a doily image under and next to the photo.

I wanted subtle color behind the clear pebbles, so mixed Donna's pink Pigment Powder into soft gel which also works as an adhesive. I brushed the colored gel onto the back of the pebbles, then placed them onto the page - a great way to add shimmery color!

Thanks for stopping by!

"Strength of My Life" ATC by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone! It's Tracey back to share a new project featuring Donna's fabulous products. I wanted to do something that would brighten my day when I see it and came up with this sweet ATC. This is my first attempt to try out an ATC size project. I hope you enjoy it!

"Strength of My Life"

Tips and Techniques
I grunged up one of Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® 3D Foam Swirls by sprinkling with her Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter and Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder and heat set. For a finishing touch, I rubbed it lightly with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blue Pigment Powder.

I created two of Donna's Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms flowers. One in ivory mulberry paper and the other with a typeset print paper. I've filled in with some tattered lace and a bit of the looped lace from Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Lace Ribbons. The lace is colored with her Clearsnap Smooch Spritz and Pigment Powders.

This encouraging sentiment is stamped with Clearsnap/Colorbox Leather Mix'd Media Inx then heat embossed with coordinating Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder to really pop. The Leather Embossing Powder has a wonderful coppery metallic sheen.

Here's another snippet of distressed and colored lace. The video tutorial for my Girlie Grunge Denim Rose includes my process for altering the lace. You can view that video HERE.

I bought this pack of artist trading cards a long time ago and never realized they have embossed designs on them. I brushed the card with Donna's Sea Breeze Smooch Spritz to reveal the detailed, girlie embossing and rubbed her Brown Pigment Powder mixed with water along the edges.

So the next time you need a little pick me up, or a quick gift, try grabbing
Donna's fabulous products and create your own ATC.

Totally Cute ~ by Mistra Hoolahan

Hi again lovelies! Today I have a quick little layout to share with you... this is me when I was about 4, I was always skin and bone, not sure what happened! However I was sitting at mum's desk drawing and creating, so at least that followed through!

I love using the new Canvas Pennant as a matt for my photos, they don't always have to become a banner!

For this layout I dragged out my Grand Peony Dies from Spellbinders to create a fuller flower. I've also handcut some cute little Bitty Blossoms. I made a mix of some of Donna's new Blue Pigment Powder with some water to create a paint and brushed it onto the edges of the flowers and then along the corrugations to add some delicious shimmer!

Do you like the little ruffle? I made this with Donna's new Star Denim Ribbon. I opened it up {it folds over like bias binding tape} to discover it has a gum that sticks to itself... making it perfect to create a ruffle, with no glue!! I finished the edge with one of the Lace ribbons.

There was a little offcut left over so I created a little bow as well... so cute!

"Hello Love" Layout by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone!! It's Tracey here to share a layout with you. I went a little out of my comfort zone on this one which is a bit more trendy than my normally girlie grunge style. I hope you like it.

One of my sweet scrapbooking friends, Mandy, is getting married in June. This is one of their engagement photos. I adore how the sun is shining between them and have used the sun rays in my page design along with lots of Donna's amazing products.

"Hello Love"

Tips and Techniques
Coloring my chipboard pieces was so quick and easy. I simply pressed the pieces into Donna's Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx Vintage ink, then rubbed with her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ gold Pigment Powder. I rubbed some of the blue Pigment Powder on to shade the heart strip.

I've hand crafted my flowers. My Whispy Burlap Flower is created with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ Texture Ribbons (burlap) and my tutorial can be found HERE. The Bitty Blossoms are created with ivory mulberry paper.

I used soft molding paste to stencil these sun rays, and while the paste was still wet, sprinkled with Donna's Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter in Pralines & Cream. I laid a paper over top and gently pressed to push the glitter into the paste. It's so sparkly and looks like rays of sun extending from the photo.

Here's a close up of the sun rays and exploding hearts. The hearts were colored with ink and Pigment Powder as above. The metal clock hands were painted with white gesso, then spritzed with Donna's Clearsnap Smooch Spritz in Pralines & Cream.

More chipboard hearts, using a mix of gold and blue pigment powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Rustic Birdhouse ~ by Mistra Hoolahan

Hi lovelies!

Today I have a little birdhouse to share with you, these are such fun to decorate. Add paper, some sweet trim and flowers, a little quote and you've created a cute decor item!

I have created some handmade flowers using Donna's Rose Creations and Bitty Blossoms dies from Spellbinders. These dies are well and truly my most used and loved dies, and I'm still on the original sets... they cut forever it seems!

I added some Lace trim from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L just under the 'eaves' to add some subtle interest.  like how the little round trim on this one matches the birdhouse hole and the round elements I have used on the walls.

I tied a simple bow from Donna's Organza ribbon from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and tucked it in among some flowers on the roof to soften the look, but it was far too delicate for the rustic look I was wanting... so I hit it with a few short blasts from a heat gun, it wrinkled in to fit the contours of the flowers and roof and the effect was perfect! A little bit of grungy elegance!

The paper I used to cover the birdhouse with was a woodgrain, but it too was also too 'clean', so to add some grunginess I mixed some of Donna's fabulous new pigment from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L with some matte gel medium and smeared it following the woodgrain pattern. It gave a slight shimmery yet worn look, simple but effective!

To finish off I've added some edging with Stormy Mix'd Media Inx as well as inking the base, such a fabulous colour, not quite grey, not quite brown... and it just fits everywhere!!
