How To Do Image Transfer With Girlie Grunge Art Medium

Hello my peeps! Today I'm sharing a flippin' awesome technique using my new Girlie Grunge Art Medium called Image Transfer. I have been having so much fun experimenting with this product!!! I think this is one of my most favorite projects so far.

I used a photo of some flowers that was printed on matte photo paper and an old wood shingle from a barn that a friend of mine gave to me.

Here are some additional tips for using the Girlie Grunge Art Medium:

I used the Girlie Grunge Art Medium and a couple tiny lace scraps to create the loops that I used to hang this.

I simply dipped the lace directly into the medium then adhered it to the back of the shingle.

After it was on the shingle I added more of the medium to make sure that it had a strong hold.

I leaned the shingle against the container so the back could dry.

I added a bit of the medium to the end of a long strip of my new Girlie Grunge Twine and twisted.

This made the end stiff so it would be easy to thread through the holes.

I went from the outside to the inside on one end then the opposite on the other end.

I tied the ends together... 

...Then I tied a bow... 

... Then I added a touch of medium to the center of the bow to keep the bow from untying.

Mixed Media Journal Cover by Elena Olinevich

Hello crafty friends.

I've got a denim mixed media cover I made recently.

I had such fun creating it.

I started with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blue Canvas Ribbon, that I placed on the cover and fixed it with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Crafty Power Tape on the top and hid the edges on the backside using the same tape.

After that I put the lace trim on it and fixed it with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® DODZ™ Medium only in few areas.

Later I worked on the cog chipboard, primed it with the gesso  and colored with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Pigment Powders in blue and brown.

Then I used her Clearsnap® Fairy Dust Glitter on the top.

I love this shimmer on it.

So after I placed all the embellishments, I applied the gesso and colored those areas with the powders too.

Festive Christmas Album Cover by Elena Olinevich

Hello Friends.

Christmas is almost here, and I've got an album cover

to share with you that I have made for my Christmas Album.

I wrapped the cover with some fabric and the embellished it with the papers from Photoplay - Dear Santa Collection.

I wanted to look it cozy, soft and warm so I added the lace trims.

I did some sewing. Also I put the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Canvas Pennant Banner on the base, so that the Santa's image pops up on it

It's so easy to combine papers and lace on the cover so that your project looks festive and soft at the same time.

Photoplay - Dear Santa - papers

Winter Scene Canvas by Elena Olinevich

Hello crafters. My kids are asking me each day when the winter comes. As for the youngest (he is 3 years old) it means cold and snowy. It's nasty outside with no snow. When I was a child there have been much more snow in winter than nowadays, and the color for winter projects for me are associated with white and blue for my childhood. Now I experiment a lot with a color, but in my memories of those good times it was snowy and blue was the dominant color.

So I decided to create a canvas, I named it Winter Scene - with lots of snow on the background and frosty weather.

So I played only with 3 main colors - white, blue and brown,

though I used many tones of these colors.

I started with creating different textures on my canvas background - I applied crackle paste, sand paste, and gloss gel. After that I added lace and denim trims, covered half of it with gesso and started playing with the blue.

First I misted it, then I added the pigment powders in brown and blue. It was a magic.

"Come Unto Me" Art Journal Page by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone! It's Tracey here to share the latest addition to my Scripture art journal. 

Donna's fabulous products are so versatile. It's so easy to switch gears from the bold and colorful page I posted recently to this subtle and nearly monochromatic page full of rugged textures. The thick chipboard pages in Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® are fabulous for mixed media.

Tips and Techniques

Donna's Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx are so fabulous to work with. Here I've stamped the sentiment on basic white cardstock with Stormy Mix'd Media Inx, then heat set with clear embossing powder. I like to stamp first then die cut so I can center the sentiment in the die before cutting. A piece of washi tape will keep it in place. Once cut, I used my Foam Blending Tool to rub more of the Stormy ink across the die cut.

The background around the sentiment and the page edges are brushed with Donna's Clearsnap Woodstain Smooch Spritz, then spritzed with water to lighten and move the color.

I scored a vintage dictionary at our library book sale a couple months ago and used it to create one of Donna's Spellbinders Bitty Blossom flowers. It's rubbed lightly with Stormy Mix'd Media Inx to color. 

In keeping with the monochromatic look for my journal page, I very lightly sprinkled Donna's Black and Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx Embossing powder over her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Foam Swirls and heat set. Because I used a light hand with the embossing powder, the swirls were still just a little tacky in places, so I sprinkled Donna's Clearsnap Sugar Shimmer Twinkle Dust Glitter to add a girly, sparkly touch. I also rubbed the edges lightly with Stormy Mix'd Media Inx. 

I distressed the lace after snipping off the lower edge and kept it the natural color.

I wanted a hint of textured color on my chipboard flower to draw my eye to the sentiment. I mixed Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Pigment powders into whipped spackle and dabbed it onto the chipboard with a brush to create this lovely texture. You may be thinking, Donna doesn't have green pigment powder?? Blue plus gold and a tiny bit of brown mixed together created this lovely green color. It's hard to capture in a photo, but there is a lovely shimmer on the flower and leaves from the mica powder. Once dry, I rubbed lightly with Stormy Mix'd Media ink to highlight the texture.

My background paper is from the corner of a 12 x 12" patterned paper. I just adore the textured patterns in the corner, so added similar stamping and shading around the page edge for a finished look.

Nordic Christmas Card by Elena Olinevich

Hello Friends.

Christmas is coming and I am pretty busy with making Christmas Cards.

This year I am trying different colors for them, but one of my favorite and traditional one - is Nordic Christmas.

This time I tried to experiment some new stuff on it

I took the papers from the PhotoPlay "DearSanta" collection and attached to them many fabric trims, xoxoxo

I started with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Canvas Ribbon, that I wrapped over the paper and adhered with Dodz™ XL, and then added the lace on the top of it.

After I tried to create a kind of wreath from Organza and fixed it on the trims with the  Dodz™ - Medium. Organza is quite transparent fabric, so the Dodz are so perfect as they are clear.

To make it look more festive, I added the flowers, Foam Swirls and touches of red.
