Christmas Card & Layout by ~Donna Salazar

Hello my peeps! I've been crazy busy with preparations for CHA so it was nice to be able to take a break and make a layout and card using some of my favorite products from Spellbinders®, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Clearsnap® with "Dear Santa" papers and stickers from my friends at Photoplay™.

The first project I'm sharing is this 8.5"x11" layout with a photo of me and my bestie with my daughter that was taken TEN YEARS AGO!!! My how time has just flown by!!!

In the close up below you can see some matte splatters and some glittery splatters. I pressed my Mix'd Media Inx pad onto a non stick craft sheet then blended with water and used a fan brush to splatter. I then watered down some white acrylic paint and used the same brush to splatter that. While the paint was still wet I sprinkled my Twinkle Dust Glitter in Sugar Shimmer over it and I got 2 different types of splatters. I also added some of my E-Z Stars with the same glitter.

I added a little Girlie Grunge touch with my denim ribbon on the strip as well as a rolled denim ribbon flower.

I made a couple of Bitty Blossoms out of white card stock and then I spritzed one with Holly Berries Smooch Spritz to create the little sparkly deep red rose and then I added some of my Carnation Creations die cuts to the Bitty Blossom.

I had a ton of fun with all the stickers that came in the "Dear Santa" paper pack.

Making the card was SUPER easy!!! I just cut one of the 12x12 papers down to size, distressed the edges, inked them with Mix'd Media Inx CHOX, then added a bit of white paint to the edges. I then splattered the back ground with a little bit of the same paint watered down a bit then sprinkled with Twinkle Dust Glitter while all the paint was still wet.

I added a piece of burlap from my Texture Ribbons pack and a piece of scalloped denim from my Denim Ribbons pack both from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®. I added 3 Bitty Blossoms and adhered a few stickers and this card was done!

In the close up photo below you can see the inked edges with glittery paint edges and splatters really well. The stickers are also from the "Dear Santa" paper line.

"Hunter Daniel" by Donna

Hello my peeps! Today I have a layout to share with you. I haven't created layouts in a long while but I'm totally on a roll now!!! I think that this layout might be one of my all time favorite layouts that I've ever made... It might be because of the the adorable subject but I like the design too. ;) I don't have any techniques for you today. I just wanted to share what I've made.

I used some of my new products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and some of my tried and true faves from Clearsnap® the makers of Colorbox® and Spellbinders®.

In the photo above you can see quite a bit of the products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®. I've got my new Lace Ribbons making the frame, my new 3D Foam Swirls, my new E-Z Stars, and my new Pigment Powder in Gold.

The photo above shows the tiny flowers I made with my Carnation Creation dies that have E-Z Stars as a flower center. You can also see that I've added some 3D Foam Stars from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®. I added some of my Twinkle Dust glitter to the E-Z Stars as well as all the 3D Foam products.

In the photo above you can see that the white 3D Foam products are glittery but also gold! After I added some glitter to them I rubbed some of my Pigment Powder in Gold right over the top of the glitter. The 3D Foam products were slightly sticky until after I rubbed the Pigment Powder over them.

I stamped the words onto paper strips using my Mix'd Media Inx in Midnight and adhered them to the page. I also mixed some Pigment Powder in Gold with some Fast Finish Decoupage then used a paintbrush to add some shiny gold splatters and drops.

I added a little bit of vintage color to the flowers and the edge of the layout using my Mix'd Media Inx CHOX in Driftwood.

And below is a photo of the entire layout.

Product used:
*NEW* Lace Ribbons
*NEW* E-Z Stars
*NEW* 3D Foam Swirls
*NEW* Pigment Powder - Gold

HKC - Life More Abundant by ~Donna

Hello my peeps! I'm sharing the 8x10 mixed media canvas that I made this week for the "Take Me Deeper" project on the His Kingdom Come site. I really liked the idea of this canvas and how it looked in my head but it didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted it to. I filled the heart with paper flowers that I die cut using my Carnation Creations dies and a paperback bible (that I got specifically for crafting). I wanted the flowers and pearls to show an abundantly overflowing heart with the word of God blooming inside and little gems (adhesive pearls) strewn about. That is how I made it but after I sealed the flowers and pearls the flowers kinda got lost in the mix. It is still a cute canvas but not what I wanted it to be. Oh well... I don't have to love every single canvas right?

Here are the pictures:

In the photo below you can see my new Lace Ribbons from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ (the loopy lace and the wide lace across the bottom and I also tied the wide lace into a bow). I used Fast Finish Decoupage to stiffen up the bow.

In the photo below you can see a close up of all the teensy little flowers that I die cut out of a bible using my Carnation Creation dies from Spellbinders. You can also see where I outlined the heart with some Spectrum Noir pens. I like that these pens work well over paint and decoupage mediums.

In the photo below you can see the DIY Decor Tape Wooden Grain that was used on the background of this canvas as well as a mish mash of several different stencil mask fonts... both from Hazel and Ruby.

The photo below shows my Lace Ribbons (from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™) that go across the top of the canvas. You can also see how I shadowed the words with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

Product used:

Lace Ribbon
Crafty Power Tape
Dodz™ 3D

Carnation Createions

Hazel & Ruby - DIY Decor Tape - Wooden Grain, Stencil Masks - Miscellaneous
Liquitex - Basics paint
Beacon Adhesives - Fast Finish Decoupage
