Vintage Jar Caddy by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone! It's Tracey back to share my newest project with you. I found these vintage style jars and unfinished wood caddy at my local craft store and knew they would be perfect to decorate with Donna's fabulous products. I've also included accents from the PhotoPlay Autumn Day Collection.

Tips and Techniques
The larger corner flower is one of my Wispy Burlap Flowers created with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Burlap Texture Ribbon. A photo tutorial for this flower can be found HERE. **Please note - I've used the new Home and Hobby by 3L 1/8" Extreme Doube-Sided Tape instead of glue in the creation of the flower. There's nothing like Donna's Dodz™ XL to adhere the Bitty Blossom to the flower center and to adhere this larger flower to the caddy. The smaller blossoms and flourish are adhered with small DODZ™.

I cut the smaller flowers from PhotoPlay Autumn Day Plaid using Donna's Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms dies, and used one for the center of the burlap flower. The Spellbinders flourish is cut from the same paper.

To get this rich, shimmery color for the flowers, I mixed together Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® brown, pink and gold Pigment Powders into her Clearsnap®/Colorbox® Pralines & Cream Smooch Spritz, then brushed the mixture across the flowers and flourish.

I used both types of lace from Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Lace Ribbons set. The looped lace runs across the top of the caddy and the bow is tied with the crochet lace. I had some extra pigment powder mixture on my craft mat, so brushed the ribbons lightly with this color.

I had so much fun creating this Vintage Jar Caddy
to fill with some of my scrapbooking trinkets.

I hope you've been inspired to create a Girlie Grunge decor project for your studio or home.

~ Blessings ~

"Give Thanks" Journal by Misty Russell

Hi everyone!
Today I have an altered composition notebook to share.  I used the beautiful Autumn Day papers from Photoplay and of course several of Donna Salazar's beautiful Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Canvas Ribbons.

I wanted to create a journal to start documenting the many things we have to be thankful for.  I really believe that looking for the positive every day, no matter how big or small, we will live happier lives.

As you can see I used the burlap ribbon from the Texture Ribbons pack with the Lace Ribbons on the spine of the journal and I used the Canvas Ribbons to create the flower...

To create the stem and leaves I used a twig and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® 3D foam swirls and tinted them with some yellow and brown  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Pigment Powders.

I'm so "thankful" to work with these amazing products and to be a part of such a talented team.
What are you thankful for?

Thanks for stopping by!

"Home Is where the Heart Is" Journal Page by Misty Russell

Hi! Misty here today to share a little project I created on one of the art journal pages from Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Denim Art Journal.
For the base of this project I covered the page with a napkin and then added a thin layer of gesso and added some color with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blue Pigment Powder and Clearsnap Candle Glow Smooch Spritz.

Next, I started "building" the house by cutting out shapes from pattern paper, and then I added Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Photo Corners to my roof mimicking shingles.

Then I created the door and chimney using pieces of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® - 3D foam frames stained with brown Pigment Powder.  I wanted to use the Donna's 3D swirls to create some whimsical smoke coming from the chimney and the black swirls worked perfectly with her Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter to get this effect!

To finish it all off and bring it all together, I added some stamping and gesso to all of the pieces and then cut out some words to say "Home is where the <3 is".

This was a lot of fun to make and I hope you like it too...

Thanks for stopping by, hope your having a great week!

Altered Bottle by ~ Misty Russell

Hi! Misty here! Today, I've gone off the page to share an altered bottle,
and a video showing you how I have created it.
The lace ribbons make it so easy to add some "girlie" to the "grunge" base of this project.

Since I first got my hands on the looped ribbon, I've wanted to use it for lacing. At first, I figured I would create the lacing on an altered box or the spine of a journal or book, but when I started working on this I thought it was a perfect place to try it out!

I also really love how this looks like it's made of tin, but in reality it is really a napkin giving the base its texture. The mix of Candle Glow Smooch Spritz and brown Pigment Powder give it a fun antiqued look.

"Sweet Dreams" Wall Hanging by ~ Misty Russell

Hi!  Today I have created a cute wall hanging inspired by Donna's "Under the Stars"canvas she created here.  I absolutely love how easy it is to use the E-Z Stars and it is going to be so much fun using it as focal points of projects or as an extra background pattern beneath mixed media creations!

I started off with a journal page from the DSD Denim art journal as my base, then adhered some paper and a thin napkin layer with gel medium.

After adding some texture with a stencil and some modeling paste, I coated it with some gesso and then added the stars (embossed) and misted with candle glow and pink pigment powder...

I created the clouds using a stamp over the organza ribbon and then cutting just outside the image.

Then to prevent fraying I glued around the edges and adhered it to the surface...

Then, inspired by the massive amounts of rain we've been receiving here in the midwest (lol),  I decided to add pearly raindrops to finish off the project!

"A Beautiful Moment" Journal Page by ~ Misty Russell

Hi everyone!  Misty here to share another page for the journal I'm making for Braeden's family. If you aren't familiar with this journal you can catch up by revisiting the first blog post here.

This picture is one of my favorites because its a special moment between mom and son and it just melts my heart!

In true Misty ditzy fashion I wasn't thinking when I created this journal that I would need to plan on doing both sides of the journal pages. Unfortunately, I'm messy when I create so already having the opposite side finished and embellishing was going to be a problem.

So I decided to use some corrugated cardboard to create my layout and then adhere it to the journal page with Crafty Power Tape.

I'm not sharing too many details because I do have a video showing my process so you can check it out for yourself! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

"Old Oaks" Layout by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone, it's Tracey back to share a new layout. Gary and I took a trip to Florida this spring. One of the highlights of the trip was driving down to Saint Augustine and visiting the lighthouse. The old live oaks on the grounds are so gorgeous and the focus of my layout. Donna's gorgeous products are so fun and inspiring to work with.

"Old Oaks"

Tips and Techniques
I arranged a cluster of flowers, fibers, and elements across the page. Of course I had to include some Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms. These creamy blossoms are created with mulberry paper. The key to achieving the crinkly effect is to die cut the blossoms, then mist the paper to dampen and scrunch up into a ball. Once dry, carefully open up the paper and roll into a blossom.

Donna has some amazing fibers created by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. I adore grunge, so cut, tore, stained, and unraveled her canvas ribbon and lace to tuck in and around my cluster.

This close-up highlights the torn lace and Bitty Blossoms. I'm all for using every little scrap, so the "braided" fiber piece between the leaves and branches is the strip I cut off of the lace so that I could fray the edge. To stain the lace, I rubbed Donna's Stormy Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx on my craft mat, spritzed lightly with water, and pulled the lace through the color.

I used a Colorbox Foam Applicator to lightly apply Stormy Mix'd Media Inx to the resin moth. The long green leaves are cut with Donna's Spellbinders Carnation Creation Dies.

These chipboard pieces from my stash are so like the live oak branches. To grunge them up, I applied crackle paste to the branches and set it aside to dry and crack. Once dry I brushed with Donna's Mix'd Media Inx. Just like the ink used for staining, I rubbed my ink pad onto a craft mat and spritzed with water so that I could paint it onto the crackled surface. I just adore how the Inx highlights the cracks!

You can see the frayed strips I cut from the Canvas Ribbon by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. The long fiber strips below the branches were cut from a length of Donna's looped ribbon from a previous project.

There are just so many options for using Donna's new 3D Foam Swirls by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ This girly grunge flourish is lightly sprinkled with chunky glass glitter for some bling, then brushed with her 3L Pigment Powder. For grunge, I spritzed on Donna's Woodstain Clearsnap Smooch Spritz which gave a mottled effect.

I used the bird from Donna's Spellbinders Pockets and Swirls dies to cut a black Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ - 3D Foam Creative Sheet. I peeled off the top paper and brushed with brown and gold Pigment Powder. I also used this technique to create the bee tucked into the cluster shown in the photo below.

On the background I stamped several images including Donna's Dear Sir Stamp using her Midnight Mix'd Media Inx CHOX. Around the edges I applied Mossy Mix'd Media Inx and misted lightly with water to softly color the edges. Finally I splattered Donna's Green Olive and Woodstain Smooch Spritz sparingly across the page. I lightly misted with water to soften the splatters.

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you've been inspired to get grungy and inky
with Donna's girlie grunge products!

~ Blessings ~

"Dare to be Different" Journal Pages by ~ Misty Russell

Hi!  Misty here to share a journal spread using pages from Donna's Denim Art journal.

I created the background using heavy gesso and then creating more texture with a stencil and modeling paste.  Then I used a mix of DSD Smooch and her new Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ pigment powders...

I felt like this particular page needed a little more texture so I added some of the little 3d foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ and topped them off with Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter.

One of the things I really like about using the pigment powders is that I can have more control with where I want the color, like on the chipboard dress form.

I really wanted just hints of color and so after using some glaze over the entire piece, I then added bits of color over specific areas...like the pink heart in the center. :)  However, the pigments can also be used in the same way as mists by sprinkling the tiniest bits to your projects and then misting with water.

The pink and lighter blue colors on these pages were done using that technique...

Then I finished by adding even more pigment powder and glitter to the other embellishments!

Thats all I have for today!
Hoping you have a beautiful and creative weekend!
