"Hang in there" card by ~ Misty Russell

Hi!  Today I have a card to share with you.  I haven't done too many cards because they actually don't come any easier to me than a layout or journal page.  It must have something to do with the smaller size that I struggle working with...

I used a 4x6 file folder from Canvas Corp as my base and started building on it from there.

I distressed all of my papers, including the file folder with the handy dandy distrezz it all then I added some of the negatives from the 3D Foam keys to the background for some added texture.

I lined the edge of the card with the lace ribbon, and then I ripped strips of the organza ribbons and added under some of the layers.

Then like a lot of my projects, I added a coffee filter flower using the Rose Creations Die.  I like to use the coffee filters because I can cut several layers all at once.  Plus, I like dying them with coffee, mists, and pigment powders and then heat drying them.  The heat gun pulls all of the layers up the flowers end up looking nice and full!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!  Hope you are having a beautiful week!

Masculine Graduation Card by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone, it's Tracey here to share a masculine graduation card featuring Donna's fabulous products. Our son-in-law completed his graduate degree this spring, so I wanted to create something extra special to celebrate his accomplishments.

Gold leafing is hot right now in paper crafting and something I've never worked with in all my years of crafting. I tried it out with Donna's new E-Z Stars by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ and adore the results. Let me know what you think. All the details can be found below in my Tips and Techniques section.

Tips and Techniques
I've been scheming how to incorporate gold leafing into some of my projects, and Donna's E-Z stars came to mind since they are tacky on both sides. I randomly placed the E-Z Stars on the dark layer along with another next to my sentiment and one in the bottom corner. I laid a snippet of gold leaf paper over each star and brushed away the excess with a stiff paint brush. See how they reflect the light? It really is a breeze to use gold leafing with E-Z Stars!!

I also stamped the top layer with a grungy stamp using gold leaf adhesive, then applied the gold leaf in the same way.

There are so many ways to use Donna's new Canvas Ribbons by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. Here I colored and grunged up a strip of canvas ribbon with several colors of Clearsnap Mix'd Media Ink then stamped Donna's Ruler image onto the canvas ribbon using Mix'd Media Inx. I trimmed it out and adhered to a strip of dark patterned paper.

I rubbed Donna's brown Pigment Powder onto one of Donna's 3D Foam Keys by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. I then layered a metal key on top of the foam key for extra dimension.

I colored a snipped of wrought iron fence chipboard with black Mix'd Media Inx, then rubbed with brown and gold Pigment Powders to give a metallic sheen. Yes, I did turn it upside down for a touch of gothic grungy texture below the ruler. All the paper layers are inked with Mix'd Media Inx and distressed with Donna's Zutter Distrezz-it-All.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope you've been inspired to try out some gold leaving with
Donna's E-Z Stars by by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™!

"Old Oaks" Layout by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone, it's Tracey back to share a new layout. Gary and I took a trip to Florida this spring. One of the highlights of the trip was driving down to Saint Augustine and visiting the lighthouse. The old live oaks on the grounds are so gorgeous and the focus of my layout. Donna's gorgeous products are so fun and inspiring to work with.

"Old Oaks"

Tips and Techniques
I arranged a cluster of flowers, fibers, and elements across the page. Of course I had to include some Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms. These creamy blossoms are created with mulberry paper. The key to achieving the crinkly effect is to die cut the blossoms, then mist the paper to dampen and scrunch up into a ball. Once dry, carefully open up the paper and roll into a blossom.

Donna has some amazing fibers created by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. I adore grunge, so cut, tore, stained, and unraveled her canvas ribbon and lace to tuck in and around my cluster.

This close-up highlights the torn lace and Bitty Blossoms. I'm all for using every little scrap, so the "braided" fiber piece between the leaves and branches is the strip I cut off of the lace so that I could fray the edge. To stain the lace, I rubbed Donna's Stormy Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx on my craft mat, spritzed lightly with water, and pulled the lace through the color.

I used a Colorbox Foam Applicator to lightly apply Stormy Mix'd Media Inx to the resin moth. The long green leaves are cut with Donna's Spellbinders Carnation Creation Dies.

These chipboard pieces from my stash are so like the live oak branches. To grunge them up, I applied crackle paste to the branches and set it aside to dry and crack. Once dry I brushed with Donna's Mix'd Media Inx. Just like the ink used for staining, I rubbed my ink pad onto a craft mat and spritzed with water so that I could paint it onto the crackled surface. I just adore how the Inx highlights the cracks!

You can see the frayed strips I cut from the Canvas Ribbon by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. The long fiber strips below the branches were cut from a length of Donna's looped ribbon from a previous project.

There are just so many options for using Donna's new 3D Foam Swirls by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ This girly grunge flourish is lightly sprinkled with chunky glass glitter for some bling, then brushed with her 3L Pigment Powder. For grunge, I spritzed on Donna's Woodstain Clearsnap Smooch Spritz which gave a mottled effect.

I used the bird from Donna's Spellbinders Pockets and Swirls dies to cut a black Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ - 3D Foam Creative Sheet. I peeled off the top paper and brushed with brown and gold Pigment Powder. I also used this technique to create the bee tucked into the cluster shown in the photo below.

On the background I stamped several images including Donna's Dear Sir Stamp using her Midnight Mix'd Media Inx CHOX. Around the edges I applied Mossy Mix'd Media Inx and misted lightly with water to softly color the edges. Finally I splattered Donna's Green Olive and Woodstain Smooch Spritz sparingly across the page. I lightly misted with water to soften the splatters.

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you've been inspired to get grungy and inky
with Donna's girlie grunge products!

Bridal Shower Card by ~ Tracey Sabella

It's Tracey here to share a card I created for a dear friend's bridal shower featuring lot's of Donna's girlie grunge goodies!!

Tips and Techniques
Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Keys are so fun to work with. There are so many techniques that work with them. I heat embossed them with Jasmine Mix'd Media Embossing Powder for texture, then rubbed them with Donna's Gold Pigment Powder from Scrapbooking Adhesives by 3L. This shimmery powder give them a grungy metallic effect. Finally the card is splattered with white gesso adding even more texture.

My focal flowers are hand crafted using Donna's products and Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms dies. A tutorial for my Whispy Burlap Flower using Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Texture Ribbons (Burlap) can be found HERE.

Here's a side view. I've cut a piece of Donna's Lace Ribbons from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L down the middle and tucked it into one of the stitched layers.

Here's a shot of the card top. I've stenciled textured butterflies at the top and used Mix'd Media Inx to color Donna's organza Texture Ribbon. I cut the ribbon into a thinner strip, heat embossed to crinkle. Finally I dabbed both the ribbon and the berry sprigs with Clearsnap Glue Gloss and sprinkled with Donna's Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter.

Thanks for stopping by!

"Cherish Family" Layout by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone, it's Tracey back to share a wedding layout I created for some dear friends of our daughter. Micah is blessed to have three sweet children, and this is one of their favorite photos of them all together during the ceremony by Glacier Lake in Montana.

I wanted the focus to be on this sweet photo, so I went with a monochromatic background filled with textured girlie grunge elements.

"Cherish Family"

Tips and Techniques
I've used white on white elements accented with silver. The bow is created with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Texture Ribbons (organza) To achieve a narrower ribbon for my bow, I cut a length of it in half, trimmed off the edging, then tied it into a triple loop bow. To get the grungy curled effect, I used a heat tool on the bow, being careful not to get too close to the ribbon for too long. I centered a crystal and silver button on the bow and tucked a couple jewelry charms beneath that are appropriately printed with the love verse from I Corinthians 13:4.

The Roses are created with Donna's Rose Creations dies and voile fabric. I created a tutorial for similar, Crushed Voile Peonies HERE. They are made the same way as the peonies, but using Rose Creation dies instead. If you number the dies from smallest to largest, I've used dies 4, 5, and 6 for the larger roses (the 3 largest dies in the set) and dies 4 and 5 for the smaller roses. I've filled the centers with stamens which can be found in the bridal section of most craft stores. The voile is found in the home decor section with the sheer fabrics used for curtains. I've also tucked in a Bitty Blossom flower, and my tutorial for these gems can be found HERE.

A close-up of one of my roses. I've used Donna's Zutter Distrezz-it-All on my layered edges. I've not found another distressing tool that makes such gorgeous distressed edges and so quickly too. People think I've used some kind of special paper because the distressing makes the paper look so thick.

I adore using Donna's Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powders. To get a girlie grunge effect on the chipboard, I dabbed with Donna's Clearsnap Emboss Gloss, then sprinkled on Jasmine embossing powder ever so lightly, so the bare chipboard would show through. You'll see the same treatment on other chipboard pieces around the page.

Below the photo, I've layered a piece of Donna's fabulous Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Lace Ribbons. To grunge it up, I put a dab of Stormy Mix'd Media Inx Reinker on my craft mat and spritzed it with water, then pulled the lace through the inky puddle to color it. If you don't have the reinkers, you could get a similar effect by rubbing your ink pad on your mat, then spritz it with water. I used a paint brush to spatter and drip the excess ink onto my background. I've also used several of Donna's stamps to embellish the background as well.

I hope you've been inspired to grab your
Donna Salazar product to create a girlie grunge project!!

Mother's Day Card by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi, it's Tracey here to share my latest project featuring Donna's amazing girlie grunge products. Mother's Day will be here before you know it. I hope you will find inspiration in this card I created for my mom.

Tips and Techniques
I created this Wispy Burlap Flower using Donna's Scrapbooking Adhesives by 3L Texture Ribbons (Burlap) and centered it with a Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms Flower. A tutorial for these burlap flowers can be found HERE.

Here's a side view of the Wispy Burlap Flower and a better view of the Bitty Blossoms flowers I tucked in.

Here's a view of the lower flower cluster. You can also see how I've layered the die cuts below the butterfly. I've run a strip of Donna's Textured Ribbons (Organza) and ribbon through one of the die cut layers. I folded the organza ribbon to fit the die cut slot and the looped lace covers the edges that meet in the center of the ribbon. I adore how this ribbon strip softens the card.

Another view of this cluster with another of my Bitty Blossoms flowers. I've added texture to the background with a stencil and molding paste, then colored around the clusters with Donna's Sea Breeze Smooch Spritz. Once dry, I splattered with thinned gesso. You can see here how I distressed the card edges with Donna's Zutter Distrezz-it-All.

I embrace the concept that it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind. (Creatively speaking, that is!! lol) So I keep a ziplock bag of unused die cuts along with items left from creating tutorials like this sweet glittery butterfly. I only had to cut one more layer for the stacked die cuts, so this card came together pretty quickly.

I've inked the edges of the dark layers with Clearsnap Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx and the light layers with Denim. Each of the die cuts is separated by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares for added dimension.

The edges of the butterfly are inked with Denim Mix'd Media Inx. I then dabbed the inked edges with Clearsnap Glue Gloss and sprinkled with Mixed Berries Twinkle Dust Glitter. A step by step photo tutorial for this sweet butterfly can be found HERE.

I hope you've been inspired to grab your girlie grunge Donna Salazar products to create a card for your mom, grandmother, or someone who has been a role model to you.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Picture Perfect Art Journal with Video Tutorial by ~ Misty Russell

Hi!  Misty here today share an altered journal I created.  Altered journals are one of my favorite type of projects.

They make for perfect little gifts and they are so easy to create.
This particular journal was made even easier thanks to Donna's beautiful fabric pieces!
My favorite is the Lace Trim, but I'm also in love with the pennants...
Here I've used the Canvas Pennant as a pocket and embellishished it with the Lace Trims and 3D foam keys...
I'm seriously amazed at how much abuse the foam keys will take.  I won't bore you with the how to's (because I have a video sharing my process), but they have taken several layers of painting and embossing and they turned out just how I wanted them to....nice and grungy!

With all of my journals I like to distress the pages to give it an aged look.  Thankfully with the Distrezz it all it only took a couple of minutes compared to the half hour it used to take me when I used to use a simple distressing tool...it definitely made my life easier!

To see how I created it, check out the video below:

"Key to My Heart" Card by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi, It's Tracey back to share a Valentine's Day Card I created for my husband featuring Donna's new Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Denim Sheets, Burlap Ribbon, and 3D Foam Keys.

"You Hold the Key to My Heart"

Tips and Techniques
I wanted to keep my card more masculine, so created a denim flower using Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L denim sheet from her Pennant Set and a vintage button. With the extra small Clover Kanzashi Flower Maker it only took a few minutes to create. To give it a more grungy guy feel I dabbed with Donna's Clearsnap Emboss Gloss and heat set with Mix'd Media Inx Leather Embossing Powder.

Remember the Wispy Burlap Flowers I've been creating? I saved the burlap threads and used them here to wrap around the heart.

I heat embossed one of Donna's Scrapbooking Adhesives by 3L Foam Keys with her leather embossing powder to give a metallic finish. Donna has created a video tutorial demonstrating this techique. You can view her tutorial HERE.

I hand cut this heart from corrugated board. I used a palette knife to add light molding paste across the heart from some grungy texture, then misted the center with Donna's Sea Breeze Clearsnap Smooch Spritz. Then to grunge up the edges I brushed opposite edges with Donna's Clearsnap Emboss Gloss, sprinkled with Leather Mix'd Media Inx, and heat set.

I used an old typeset stamp set to stamp out my sentiment, cut out and rubbed with Truffle Mix'd Media Inx. To add the heart texture to the background, I used the Heart Confetti Mask from Um Wow studio with molding paste. I then spritzed with water and Sea Breeze Smooch Spritz, dried, then splattered with more Sea Breeze and Wood Stain Smooch Spritz.

I rubbed Truffle Mix'd Media Inx across the Um Wow Chipboard Confetti Hearts, dried, then dabbed randomly with Donna's Emboss Gloss sprinkled with Leather MMI embossing powder, and heat set. I just adore the random grungy look this creates. You just can't get this effect with an embossing pad, that would cover the entire piece.

The edges are distressed with Donna's Zutter Distrezz-it_All, then inked with Truffle Mix'd Media Inx.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope you've been inspired to pull out your Donna Salazar
goodies and create a grungy Valentine for your sweetheart!
