Girlie Grunge Easter Eggs by Donna Salazar

Happy Easter everyone!!! Whether you celebrate today by going to church or doing an egg hunt... or maybe by doing both, I hope that you have a blessed day and that you are surrounded by the people you love the most!!!

I've got some Girlie Grunge Easter eggs to share with you today. I purchased some craft eggs from Michael's so that I can keep these to decorate next year too. All the eggs were made with my new Girlie Grunge Art Medium and my Pigment Powders from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® but I also used some of my Mix'd Media Inx from Colorbox® on a few as well.

I decoupaged a couple of the eggs then added the Pigment Powder over the damp Art Medium. When you burnish the Pigment Powder over the damp Art Medium it really makes it shine. I've talked a bit about it in the video of my DIY Doily Bowls. On one of the decoupaged eggs I added the Pigment Powder into some Art Medium watered down by half with a bit of blue Pigment Powder in the mix then used that to decoupage the egg.

I normally don't decorate my kitchen table for anything other than Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas/Winter but I decided to do an Easter/Spring theme this year as well. I think I'm going to keep doing this theme and will add in a cross and more Eastery stuff next year.

Product used:

Nature Boy by Donna Salazar

Hello my peeps! Today I'm sharing a layout that I made of my grandson, Hunter. He LOOOOVES the outdoors and I have so many pictures of him being a typical little boy running around with sticks, in trees and playing in the dirt so I wanted to make sure that I made at least one layout of him in his element... I'm sure there are more in my crafting future.

I used my new Cascading Circles die from Spellbinders® that will be available to purchase in April.

I used my Colorbox® Mix'd Media Inx to add the color to the background then used my Mix'd Media Inx CHOX to ink the photos, the edge of the layout and to stamp the title.

I used my Girlie Grunge Art Medium from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® to adhere the circle layers together and to adhere some of the circles to the layout. This medium works as a craft glue, as decoupage, can be mixed with pigment to make a paint and then the paint diluted with water can be used as a spray. I used it to make the lace bowls that were in my post on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog from the other day too. I'll be doing a lot of videos to share some of the ways that you can use this Girlie Grunge Art Medium... it is one of my favorite new products!

"Birthday Card" by Donna

Hello my peeps! Today I've got a quick photo tutorial for you using some of my new products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. This card is for my big sis. My family LOVES to tease each other so when I saw this stamp set from Unity Stamp Co, I knew that it would make a perfect card for her!

Here is how I made the card

I started with ivory card stock and added some of my new E-Z Stars.

I sprinkled some of my Twinkle Dust Glitter (yes it comes in this adorable glass shaker) over the adhesive stars and lightly rubbed it in.

I used my finger to dab some of my new Pigment Powder in Gold over the stars and glitter.

I brushed off the excess so that I wouldn't rub the Pigment Powder into the background.

I sprinkled some clear embossing powder over the stars and really pressed it into the adhesive (after using the Pigment Powder the adhesive loses it's stickiness).

I set the embossing powder with a heat gun.

I misted the card stock with a generous amount of water...

Then I used an ink blender with my Mix'd Media Inx in Indigo to create the "watercolor" sky.

Before I dried the card I used a baby wipe to remove any of the Inx from the top of the stars.

After drying the card I used Crafty Power Tape to adhere some of my new Denim Ribbon.

I stamped the image of the car using my Mix'd Media Inx CHOX in Sparrow.

I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of card stock, added notches in the ends then used an ink blender around the edges.

I adhered it with Crafty Power Tape.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside using my Mix'd Media Inx CHOX.

Then I distressed the edges of the front and the inside of the card using my Mix'd Media Inx CHOX in Driftwood.

And here are a couple close up shots.

"Bubbles" by ~ Donna

Hello my peeps! It's been so busy in the Salazar household. My daughter turned 21 last month, I had 2 nephews graduate from high school and my grandson turned TWO. It never ceases to amaze me how fast time flies!!! With a household of 6 people there never seems to be enough time in the day to document the day to day. I hadn't created a layout in close to a year but was able to squeeze in some time to create a layout of my grandson's new love of bubbles.

You can check out my new "bubble" technique created with my new products on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog.

Here are some photos of the layout with some tips on how to use some of my products from Clearsnap®/Colorbox® for mixed media effects.

I started with a white piece of card stock.  I wanted to use several resist techniques so I created my own swirl stamp using my 3D Foam Swirls from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and used my Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx® from Colorbox® to stamp a few swirls around the area where the photo was going to be. I then used my Patina Mix'd Media Inx® and my bubble wrap stamp randomly around the page. I finished this first stage by adding some repositionable E-Z Dots® (for some random tiny dots) and some of my new E-Z Stars. I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the entire page and heat set it.

I used my Mix'd Media Inx® CHOX in Midnight with my Crackle stamp around the area where the photo was going to be and stamped the words onto white paper. I used my Mix'd Media Inx® in Denim on the circles that I punched out of the top layer of cardboard as well as the edges of the Creative Photo Corners in kraft. I then blended the Denim Mix'd Media Inx® over random areas on the background but especially around the embossed elements. I used a baby wipe to wipe the Inx off the embossing and to create a smooth blended edge.  I finished by adding a tiny bit of my River Mossy Smooch Spritz®.

Below is a close up of some of the details on the layout.

For additional close ups plus more tips for using products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®, check out my post on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog.
