Gesso & Smooch Spritz technique by ~ Helena Johansson

Hi everybody! Today I have a card to share, and I have used lots of gorgeous papers from GCD Studios and Donna's Family Jeans Collection, chipboard from Want2scrap and Donna, and fabulous Smooch Spritz.

Joy card

First, I want to show you how I have got the "metallic" look on the paper edges. This is what I have used: Papers from GCD Studios and Donna's Family Jeans collection, 6x6 paper pad, white gesso, Smooch Spritz in two colors - River Mossy and Mixed Berries.

Metallic tut 1

First, I cut the papers in three different sizes, and then I painted the edges with white gesso using a sponge.

Then I misted the two colors of Smooch Spritz in a plastic container and let the colors blend a bit. (I have used this container before, so there are "leftovers" from other colors too, but that actually gives my project an even better look :)

Then I gently dipped the paper edges into the mist and let them soak up some paint. I also moved the paper around a little to get an uneven amount of color around the edges.

Metallic tut 4

This is what the paper looks like after it has soaked up a bit of mist. You can repeat this a couple of times if you want more color, I did this on my papers.

When I was done with the papers I made a flower using Spellbinders Carnation Creation dies. Since I had some mist left in the plastic container, I painted the edges of the flower with some gesso and dipped the flower into the mist too. I also used a small piece of cheesecloth and sprayed it with the Mixed Berries Smooch Spritz and gently arranged it underneath the flower.

The Want2Scrap chipboard swirls got the same treatment - I painted them with gesso and dipped them into my mist mixture.

Joy card 6

Underneath the flower I have also put a swirl from Spellbinders and Donna's Pocket and Swirls dies (and of course, it also got some Smooch Spritz on it!)

Joy card 4

I completed my card with flat, plastic silver beads that my darling daughter so nicely donated:

Thank you for stopping by today!
