"Forever" by Helena Johansson

Hi! Today I have a layout to inspire you with. This page was made as a present for my sister and her husband, the photo is of their wedding day in 2011. They look so beautiful, so of course I had to make something special for them.

I have used papers from GCD Studios and Donna's Natural Beauty collection: Twiggy B, Flying Free A and Teal Burlap B and layered them in this order. For the background I needed something romantic and used Want2Scraps and Donna's new 8x10 stencil - bricks - and made a pattern here and there across the page. I just love these larger stencils - perfect for layouts! I then used Mix'd Media Inx, Pewter and Chiffon, and  and rubbed it onto the bricks and then let the ink fade out.

Here's a close-up of the bricks. I used texture paste to really get that "brick feeling".

The title "forever" is GCD Studios and Donna's chipboard alpha, from the Fun and Funky collection.

I cut a couple of birds from the Natural Beauty 12x12 pad image sheet.

The white (and one green), fabric flowers with pearls I made using Spellbinders Rose Creation dies. I have a little tutorial further down on how I made these.

Here's another look at the Rose Creation flower:

And here you see the green one, and another white:

Here is how I made the flowers, I call them "Stapled Flowers":

I have used: Spellbinders Rose Creation dies, small pieces of fabric and lace I had at home (the fabric is leftovers from our bedroom curtains and the lace with roses is from a table cloth I bought at the local dollar store), a stapler and some white pearls.

For the flowers on my layout I used the second largest die and cut flowers from the fabric and lace. They didn't cut all the way through, so had to cut here and there with my scissors.

Staple tut 2

I then layered two flowers (one fabric and one lace) and folded it. I then stapled the flower in the middle, close to the edge.

Staple tut 3

Here's what the flower looks like folded out and decorated with pearls:

I needed a green flower for my layout and misted one of the flowers with Smooch Spritz, color Green Olive, and then adhered the pearls.

Thank you for stopping by today!
