Upcoming Classes from Donna Salazar

Here are some of my upcoming online classes for My Creative Classroom. These are mini classes where everything is is loaded at one time. You download the instructional pdf and you have several weeks to watch the technique videos, interact in the General Chatter Forum, and upload pictures of your own projects.

This is the 7th class in my Grungy Girl Technique Series.
In this class we will be making 4x4 cardboard boxes with sliding drawers that will be decoupaged, decorated, and delightful! You can make as many boxes as you like (each box with sliding drawer will need 2 pieces of cardboard). You can make one box, 20 boxes... or more. I used 5 boxes for my example (so I needed 10 pieces of cardboard) and I adhered them together into one piece to use for storage in my studio.
Early Enrollment is only $12 and will be ending on Thursday, September 12th at 10:00 AM Central Time. The normal class fee is $17.

GRUNGY GIRL TECHNIQUE SERIES
Did you miss the earlier classes in this series? If so, not to fret, the earlier classes are being offered again for a limited time. More info about each class is below.
AND... if you take ALL 10 classes in the Grungy Girl Technique Series in 2013, you will get an 11th class, that will be held in early 2014, TOTALLY FOR FREE!!!

#1 - MAKE YOUR OWN PAINT $17
This project can make anyone look like a seasoned mixed media artist! The image that we will be coloring in is a download inside the classroom... painting this canvas is almost like a grown up's coloring book. You will print the image onto any type of vintage paper medium that you like... I suggest sheet music, dictionary paper, old maps, etc... The technique that I'll be showing you will be how to make your own paint from Mix'd Media Inx re-inkers and Fast Finish Decoupage. I'll show you how this type of paint behaves, how it looks when layered with other mediums, different ways to apply the paint and some of the different looks that that you can achieve. My sample is made with specific colors but I'll show other color combinations as well and you can choose your own color palette.

#2 - MAKE YOUR OWN MIXED MEDIA BOXES $17
I LOVE to use unique storage in my studio. Almost all of my storage is handmade and girlie grunge. I love these mixed media boxes because they are beautiful & functional, sturdy & stylish all at the same time. The finished box is 7" Long, 4" Wide & 2 "High (my alcohol pens fit perfectly in them). In this class, we will have 3 lessons plus an optional lesson about using Ice Resin. Lesson 1 will show you how to construct the box, Lesson 2 will be about texture, Lesson 3 will be about color and the bonus lesson is about resin.

#3 - MAKE YOUR OWN TOPIARY  $17
This class is all about the flowers!!! There are so many different ways to make the flowers on this project so you can make it look more girlie or more grungy... depending on your preference. And we make all the flowers using only TWO of my Spellbinders flower die sets. This class is JAM PACKED with techniques. Honestly, it shouldn't be in this mini-class series but I got carried away when making this project.

#4 - WOOD SIGNS $17
I designed this class because I looooooove wood signs, especially silly ones. I purchased a sign that is now hanging in my kitchen that says "Avoid Reality At All Costs". I paid a pretty penny for this sign that is just words on wood. I've done image transfer before so I thought I'd try it on wood to see what would happen... and it worked out FABULOUSLY!
All you need is an ink jet printer, some art supplies and a piece of wood and you can make a ton of these signs for a FRACTION of the retail cost.

#5 - HAND STITCHED JOURNAL $17
This is the next class in my Grungy Girl Techniques series. In this mini class I've got detailed step by step photos for you as well as technique videos to help you learn some fun mixed media techniques using paint, glue, stencils, texture paste, cheesecloth, and inky painty goodness. I'll also be teaching you all about Coptic stitch book binding and giving you tips for using the Coptic stitch on future projects. The technique video for the stitching is extremely helpful!
