Congrats by ~ Helena Johansson

Hi everybody! Today I have a Congrats Card to share. I have used the beautiful Natural Beauty line from GCD Studios and Donna's. I love the soft, vintage pink and grey colors together!
I started with two papers from the 6x6 paper pad and glued them to my cardbase. I then used my sewing machine to make some stitches around the edges. A bit of cheesecloth and texture paste gives this card a shabby look. On top of that I put Want2Scrap and Donna's chipboard puzzle pieces. I have a little tutorial further down on how I decorated the puzzle pieces.

The large flower was made with Spellbinders Rose Creation dies, I used the same papers for the flowers that I used on my card.

I was really pleased with how the puzzle pieces turned out. Love the vintage, shabby look they got!

And here is how I decorated the puzzle chipboard. I started with painting the pieces with white gesso:

Before the gesso had dried, I put the pieces upside down on Donna's "The Crafty Chronicle", and let them lay there for a couple of minutes.

The soft paper of the Chronicle then rubbed off on the chipboard, and here is how the pieces look after I gently pulled them of the paper:

Here is a closer look:

I wanted to add a bit of color and shine, and misted the pieces with Smooch Spritz, color Pralines & Cream:

Finally, I put on some glossy varnish and let the pieces dry before I glued them on my card:

Thank you for stopping by today!
xoxo
